The Australian University Crops Competition is open to all Australian and New Zealand universities. Registrations for the 2009 Australian University Crops Competition have now closed.

2009 Competing Universities
The following universities have registered competitors for the inaugural year of the competition:

The University of Sydney, NSW (3 competitors)
Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga Campus, NSW (2 competitors)
University of New England, NSW (3 competitors)
Macquarie University, NSW (1 competitor)
La Trobe University, VIC (7 competitors)
University of Adelaide, SA (3 competitors)
Curtin University, Muresk Campus, WA (4 competitors)

The eligibility criteria for the competition is as follows:

  • Institutions entitled to register competitors: Australian and New Zealand Universities.

  • Competing students must be registered as full time undergraduate students at the nominating University. Certification of this must be provided to the Competition Manager on day 1 of the competition.

  • Students who have a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural or Biological Sciences are not eligible to participate in the competition.

  • Contestants must at no time have served as a teacher in any college or university.

  • Students wishing to enter the competition must pay the nominated entry fee.

  • In the event of significantly large numbers of contestants, the committee reserves the right to restrict universities to a certain number of students to ensure every university has an opportunity to compete.

  • The university must nominate the contestants who will compete as observers prior to the commencement of the competition.

  • Contestants are eligible to compete in only one competition.

  • Each university will be responsible for assessing their own contestant’s eligibility
